To rethink, reshape and review the EU’s democracy support policies in its Eastern and Southern Neighbourhoods, SHAPEDEM-EU collected data in and generates policies for six case countries: Armenia, Georgia, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia and Ukraine. These data points and learnings aimed to provide workable and sustainable policy recommendations that increase the accountability, transparency and effectiveness of EU democracy support policies. The project also piloted a Democracy Learning Loop to ensure that local voices from the EU Neighbourhoods can effectively contribute to the research process.
